The page is not the article

A typical article page is one column of text wrapped in navigation bars, sidebars, related-link grids, cookie notices, and floating widgets. Printed as-is, that chrome eats the page: the text column shrinks to a narrow strip next to empty space, and sticky headers repeat on every sheet.

How Paperized mode works

1. Web Paperize loads the page fully—lazy images, collapsed sections, inner scroll areas.
2. It extracts the main reading content, conservatively: if it cannot confidently identify a single reading subject, it says so rather than guessing.
3. The extracted content is rebuilt into a document with its own calm typography—a fixed reading column, comfortable line spacing, code blocks and tables that fit the page.
4. Chrome renders that document to A4 (or Letter) pages with selectable text and clickable links; the original page is untouched and restored afterwards.

Long screenshots get extra vertical room, headings stay with the text that follows them, and table headers repeat across pages.

Auto decides for you

In the default Auto mode, Web Paperize checks whether the page really is reading content—a documentation page or blog post gets the paperized treatment, while a dashboard, feed, or app page is exported with its original layout intact. You can always force Paperized or Original yourself.

Good fits

• Blog posts, tutorials, and news articles you want to actually read on paper or a tablet.
• Documentation pages where the sidebar and navigation would otherwise dominate the printout.
• Chinese and English long-form pages—the layout works for both.

Honest limits

• It is deliberately conservative: pages without a clear reading subject fall back to the original layout instead of a wrong extraction.
• Paperized output is portrait and paginated; it does not apply to element or selection exports.
• Promotional tails that carry real text are kept rather than over-pruned.
